Christmas Cupcake Exchange

A few months ago, I decided I wanted to host a Christmas party this year.
I've been to a lot of cookie exchanges in the past, and, though I like cookies, I love cupcakes more.
So, I decided to host a cupcake exchange.
I've never heard of a cupcake exchange, never been to a cupcake exchange.
Even Google failed to provide pictures of a cupcake exchange.
So, I decided to host the first Christmas Cupcake Exchange.

It was absolute perfection.
Confectionery Heaven.

Full of bubbly drinks in pretty glasses, colorful cupcakes, pretty dresses & adorable friends.

I'm a lucky girl.

So, want to see the party?

A red & white tablescape, with a few savory items to balance the sweet

I made donut cupcakes that I called "Melissa's Guilty Pleasure Cupcake."
I love Funfetti cake mix, cupcakes and donuts.
It's been called "the turducken of desserts."

Here are the mini donuts that later went on top of the cupcake.

Holly's DELICIOUS peppermint cupcakes
& chocolate coconut cupcakes

Caitlin's lemon cupcakes. Delish.

Christen brought these cuties all the way from Vegas. I love the blonde gingerbread girls.

Courtney's brownie cupcakes (on the right) with a York inside were delicious!

  10. What a darling party! Just lovely. I am a new follower (from Kappa Prep). Your blog is fantastic. I've read all about your travels, your LSAT, etc. As an attorney (not currently practicing), I still remember that dreadful exam. Thank goodness it's over for you. I hope you did well. Even if you didn't end up where you thought you wanted to, remember...law schools are not only interested in LSAT scores. You've got to have the whole package, which is seems you do. Have a Merry Christmas!!!

  20. Ohmygoodness....what a sweet party!!! You've inspired me to go ahead and do a Valentine Tea Party for my little daycare friends...they're all just under 3 years old, but each comes with a Mommy who would swoon to get to come with them! I can tell you cupcakes will be taking center stage & I will be returning to study your pics for more inspiration! Thank you so much for sharing your fun day, and please...don't be discouraged when you don't get a jillion comments...people are just sooo busy, and tho you may not hear back from everybody who reads your blog, you touch many lives with your fun ideas!!

  21. I am just running across your blog on the cupcake exchange. I am an American living in Mexico and the past two years I introduced to all my "non cooking/baking" friends the "cookie swap" but this coming Christmas I want to change it up and do a cupcake exchange. I just a quick question. How many cupcakes did each guest have to bring and how did you come up with that number?? thank you for sharing this as I too googled it and did not find a lot here other than your blog.....
